The power of texture

I love experimenting with different media. Polyfilla, gesso, acrylic and any kind of minerals are currently my favourite mixture. Once I have a general idea of what to paint I start with creating the base for the painting mixing the above media together. They create a beautiful combination of marks on their own and suggest shapes on the canvas.. The texture needs to be dry before I start adding the colour. This is when the real fun begins. I follow my instinct as I work with the paint. I have no plan or any final vision in my head. I want the painting to develop naturally, surprise me with motives that start to occur. I work on it until I am happy with the result.
